Conservation: Protecting Wyoming’s natural beauty

As stewards of Wyoming’s natural beauty, we must adopt conservation policies that preserve our state’s lands and resources while ensuring responsible access and use for families and businesses.

Faith: The Foundation

God has entrusted humanity with stewardship of the earth. “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it” (Genesis 2:15). While this can be a challenging issue to balance at times, I do believe God compels us to prioritize conservation, ensuring policies reflect care for God’s creation while supporting human flourishing. Ultimately, God has given us dominion over the Earth to subdue it. We have been given both the capability of both great destruction and great creativity, liberty, and invention in this area.

Family: The Reason

Families depend on clean air, water, and access to natural spaces for their physical and emotional health. Conservation policies should protect these resources, ensuring families can enjoy and thrive in Wyoming’s unparalleled natural beauty. Conservation policies should not be used to restrict people’s enjoyment of the lands that belong to them.

Freedom: The Result

Responsible environmental management allows families and businesses to enjoy the freedom to prosper without the negative consequences of pollution or resource depletion. It ensures that Wyoming’s economy and environment work hand in hand.

Future: The Consequence

Short-sighted exploitation of natural resources can harm future generations. Sustainable conservation practices today will ensure that Wyoming’s land, wildlife, and resources remain a blessing for generations to come.
