On April 13, 2025, I had a live conversation that was a little different than the usual campaign event. I was joined by one of my oldest friends — a British gentleman with a sharp wit, a good heart, and some very colorful opinions about the United States.
What unfolded was more than just a chat. It was a humorous, wide-ranging, and deeply meaningful conversation about Wyoming, liberty, and the future — not just of our state, but of the world.
We joked about tea, yes. We poked fun at each other’s accents. But what stood out most was how much we agreed — across an ocean and two very different cultures — on one simple truth: people want to be free.
We talked about the roots of Western civilization, the role of faith in public life, and how the erosion of liberty isn’t a uniquely American problem. It’s global. When freedom shrinks anywhere, it puts pressure on freedom everywhere. And Wyoming? We’re on the front line of that battle.
I told him what I’ve told folks at every town hall: this campaign isn’t about tweaking the system. It’s about rebuilding it from the ground up. We need to protect the family, restore local government, and create a future that actually belongs to the people — not the agencies, not the bureaucrats, and certainly not the elites.
Because when you strip away the noise, that’s what this campaign is really about. Giving people the room to speak, to live, to thrive — and to do it without asking permission.
And yes, I promised him next time we’d do the interview over a pot of tea and some American coffee.
Wait on the Lord and be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart, wait I say on the Lord. Psalms 27:14
