Property Rights and Government Overreach: My Promise to Wyoming

On February 10, 2025, I made something very clear: if we don’t get serious about protecting property rights, we’re surrendering one of the cornerstones of real freedom.

Wyomingites have always lived with a deep sense of self-reliance. That’s not just a cultural trait — it’s a necessity born out of faith, family, freedom, and a future that demands grit. But over the years, we’ve watched government grow from a distant regulator into a daily intruder. Bureaucrats who’ve never set foot on your land are writing rules about how you can use it. They don’t know your name, they don’t know your family, and they certainly don’t know your values — but they believe they know better. That ends with this campaign.

My statement wasn’t just about one policy or proposal. It was about drawing the line. You should not need permission to build a shed on your property. You should not be taxed into submission just for owning land that’s been in your family for generations. And you should not fear that a zoning board or federal agency can shut down your way of life with a single vote.

You can watch the full statement here:

I’m offering more than outrage. I’m offering a blueprint: simplify land use rules, eliminate duplicative permitting processes, and end policies that treat landowners like suspects.

You deserve a government that acts like it works for you — because it does. We’re going to return Wyoming to the people who actually live here, not the agencies and attorneys who think freedom is a technicality.

This is what it looks like to give freedom back — not just in slogans, but in soil, fences, and family-held ground. When you own land in Wyoming, you’re not a subject of the state. You’re a citizen of a free republic.

Here’s how we fix this:

Faith tells us stewardship matters. Family reminds us why it’s worth defending. Freedom says we can handle it. And the Future is watching to see whether we do.

This isn’t just one issue on the docket. This is one of the roots of the Wyoming way of life. And I’m not interested in managing decline — I’m interested in rebuilding strength.
