On February 10, 2025, I released a statement that got some attention — and that’s exactly what it needed to do. The topic? Education. The focus? Putting parents back in the driver’s seat.
Let’s be real: education should empower families, not systems. For too long, we’ve watched the structure of education grow more political, more centralized, and more out of touch with the people who matter most — parents, teachers, and the students themselves.
In Wyoming, we don’t need top-down solutions from Washington or even Cheyenne. What we need are local, faith-respecting, parent-led approaches to learning. I don’t believe government has the right to define what children are taught behind closed doors. Parents should know, parents should choose, and parents should lead.
Our current education system is too often used as a pipeline for control, rather than a launchpad for liberty. When we let systems overpower families, we lose more than test scores — we lose values, direction, and truth.
Let’s give educators room to teach — and give families back their voice. The solution isn’t to ban everything. It’s to build something better. And that starts by restoring the proper role of parents.
Faith reminds us of the truth. Family is the classroom where values are taught first. Freedom is the right to pass those values on without interference. And the Future depends on whether we stand up now.
I’m not running for governor to micromanage education from the top. I’m running to clear the path for families to lead.
